The warp uses slub yarn made from organic cotton indigo rope-dyed. The weft is organic cotton yarn blended with recycled silk from kimonos. Many kimonos that were once sold in large quantities are now in secondary distribution, but many have colors, patterns, or conditions that make them difficult to sell. These kimonos are returned to a cotton-like state using a carding machine and then blended with cotton. As a result, various colors of silk can be seen here and there, enriching the fabric's texture and adding the soft touch of silk.
